Success in one of India’s toughest entrance examinations is often associated with relentless hard work, unwavering determination and an unshakeable sense of purpose. For Aryan Gupta, who secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 in NEET UG 2026, the journey was driven not only by academic excellence but also by a deeply personal mission.
Aryan emerged as the national topper after scoring 715 out of 720 marks in the highly competitive medical entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). While another candidate, Panshul Bansal, earned the same score, the final ranking was decided according to the NTA’s tie-breaking criteria, placing Aryan at the top of the merit list.

Behind this remarkable achievement lies years of disciplined preparation. Aryan followed a rigorous study schedule, often devoting nearly the entire day to his books. Coming from a family where both parents are doctors, Aryan grew up surrounded by the medical profession. Yet, his ambition to wear the white coat was shaped by something far more profound than family influence.

The NEET UG 2026 results reflected the intense level of competition among aspirants nationwide. More than 11.21 lakh candidates qualified the examination, while only 138 students secured 690 marks or above. An even smaller group of 19 candidates crossed the coveted 700-mark threshold, highlighting the exceptional standard achieved by the country’s highest scorers.
